Introducing The Miami Foundation’s CoLab
We are building a home base for community solutions at the Historic Alfred I. duPont building in the heart of Downtown Miami. It is designed for collaboration, nonprofit support, and philanthropic impact. The space will serve as a hub for community building, cross-sector problem solving, and support for Miami’s current and future changemakers.
What is the CoLab?
Coming in 2027, The Miami Foundation’s CoLab is designed to be Greater Miami’s home base for connection, collaboration, generosity, and community impact.
The space includes nearly 20,000 sqft of collaborative space for co-working, community events, workshops, board meetings, and capacity building for nonprofits, philanthropists, and community changemakers. The Miami Foundation’s team will be located on-site, as well as a full calendar of offerings to strengthen our social impact ecosystem.
This space will be shaped by the people who gather in it and share in their commitment to building a stronger Greater Miami, together.

Findings from our
2025 Give Miami Day nonprofit survey revealed:
30% of nonprofits say they lack adequate space to fulfill their missions
63% need community event spaces, meeting rooms, and training facilities to do their work effectively
Why are we doing this?
We’re doing this to break silos, to strengthen Miami’s nonprofit sector, and to bring our community’s greatest problem solvers together in a beautiful space designed for them.
Our Foundation is excited to connect the dots between so many of our changemakers – philanthropists, nonprofit leaders, business partners, elected leaders – to help propel their important work.
Many Miami nonprofits report lacking the physical infrastructure to do their work effectively. Of the nonprofits who participated in Give Miami Day 2025, 30% report having inadequate space to work, and 63% say they need access to community event space, meeting rooms, and training facilities. 44% want increased visibility, and 31% are looking for innovative financial solutions to sustain their work. This space is a direct response to the specific needs we’re hearing from our partners.

The CoLab will serve as Miami’s hub for community and capacity-building, conceptualized from the ground up with the long-term sustainability of our community and its leaders in mind.
We are extremely grateful to our project partners in this process:
